Short version: we use Google Analytics 4 in anonymised mode (no ad personalization, no Google signals) to measure site usage. Everything else stays in your browser's local storage (language, location, favourites, profile). No advertising cookie tracks you across other sites.
1. Local storage (technical, required for the site to work)

2. Analytics + advertising cookies
Google Analytics 4 — active
Configured in anonymised mode (ID: G-KRZBJJ0NCK): IP truncated server-side by Google, Google Signals disabled, ad personalization disabled. We get aggregate stats (page views, traffic sources, devices) but cannot identify you individually.

Google AdSense — coming soon
We plan to enable Google AdSense to fund the site. AdSense may set its own cookies; when that happens, a banner will ask you explicitly and we will update this table.

3. Affiliate links (Amazon, credit cards, insurance)
We set no tracking cookies tied to an affiliate program. When you click a link marked "Affiliate link" and land on the partner site (Amazon.ca, Rates.ca, etc.), that site sets its own cookies per its own policy.
4. Managing your cookies
- Decline ad cookies: click "Decline" in the bottom banner. Stored for 12 months.
- Clear all local storage: in your browser dev tools → Application → Local Storage → right-click
gasapp.*→ Clear. All preferences will be lost. - Block all cookies: your browser's privacy settings can block all cookies for this site.
